More than weekly therapy. Less than a hospital.
Tell us your insurance, age and whether you want virtual or in person, and we help match intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs for depression, anxiety and other mental health needs.
Why Midway
Most treatment directories focus on addiction. Families looking for mental health IOP or PHP, especially for teenagers or virtual options, struggle to tell what each program offers and whether it takes their insurance.

Guides
Plain-language guides to levels of care, written for people and families weighing more support than weekly therapy.
IOP (intensive outpatient) usually means several hours of treatment a few days a week while you live at home. PHP (partial hospitalization) is a fuller day program, often five days a week, with more structure. Start with our IOP vs PHP guide if you are weighing levels of care.
Common questions
What is the difference between IOP and PHP?
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) usually runs several hours a day, three or more days a week, and most people keep living at home and often keep working or going to school part time. A partial hospitalization program (PHP) runs most of the day, typically five days a week, with more structure and more frequent psychiatric care. A clinician can recommend the right level of care after an assessment. Read our guide to choosing between IOP, PHP and outpatient therapy.
What is a virtual IOP?
A virtual IOP delivers intensive outpatient treatment by video. You join group and individual sessions from home, usually a few hours a day, several days a week. It often fits people who need more than weekly therapy, can stay safe at home and have a private space to join. Learn more in our virtual IOP guide.
What is an adolescent IOP?
An adolescent IOP gives teens several hours of structured treatment a few days a week while they keep living at home. Programs usually combine group therapy, individual and family sessions, and skills training, and many run after school or in the evening. Parents can start with our adolescent IOP guide for parents.
How long does IOP last?
Many programs run several weeks, adjusted to progress. Our IOP vs PHP guide compares how the schedules differ.
Can I keep working during IOP?
Often yes, especially with evening tracks. PHP usually requires taking time off. If you want to join from home, see how virtual IOP works.
Is Midway free for families?
Yes. Midway is free for families, always.
How can a program get listed?
Programs can claim and update a listing for free. Featured listings cost $199 to $499 per month and add priority placement.
Are programs paid to be ranked?
Featured programs are clearly labeled when they appear. Midway does not charge families.
Is this a crisis service?
No. If you or someone you love is in crisis, call or text 988 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Do you treat patients?
No. We help you find and contact programs.
How is insurance information checked?
We are still building the program directory. When listings go live, programs will confirm the plans they accept and each listing will show when it was last checked.
